[CES 2018] Acer launches Swift 7: the world’s thinnest laptop, supports 4G

At CES 2018, Acer brought to the event 3 new Acer laptop lines, of which the most impressive was the ultra-thin Swift 7 laptop, claiming this is the world’s thinnest laptop to date.

Previously, at IFA 2016, Acer also launched the first ultra-thin laptop version of Swift 7 with an impressively thin thickness of less than 1 cm. This year, Acer continues to set a new record, reducing the thickness of the 2018 Swift 7 to only 8.98 mm, surpassing names like HP Specter 13, Dell XPS 13 9370 or Macbook.

Acer Swift 7 belongs to the high-end Ultrabook line with a luxurious monolithic metal design, the screen increases from 13.3 inches to 14 inches with ultra-thin screen borders, so the machine size is still compact and light. The screen resolution reaches FullHD and supports convenient touch.

Unfortunately, Acer Swift 7 is not equipped with the new 8th generation Intel processor, but only at Core i7 Kabylake, high-speed 256 GB SSD and 8 GB internal memory. Most especially, the device supports 4G network, a rare connection on today’s laptops.

In addition, the battery is announced to use up to 10 hours and supports fingerprint security. There are only 2 USB Type C ports and 1 SIM card port using 4G.

Overall, with a not-so-impressive configuration, this Acer core i7 laptop will be suitable for the high-end user segment, who love the ultra-thin, high-end design. It is expected that Acer Swift 7 will be sold around April 2018 with an expected price of 1,699 USD (38 million VND).
